The Importance of Art

When children get a chance to express their creativity, they develop confidence.  They increase their empathy and discover how to look at the world from different perspectives.  Those skills help prepare children to take on the world with passion and creativity.

Vision 

Art is a vital and integral part of children's education.  Art provides children with opportunities to develop a range of ways in which they can share and express their individual creativity, whilst learning about and making links with a wide spectrum of different types of art in our society.

We believe Art contributes to children's personal development in creativity, independence, judgement and self-reflection.  It enables pupils to develop a natural sense of wonder and curiosity about the world around them.  We want our pupils to leave Heron Park Primary Academy as confident, social and imaginative individuals.  We want our children to have the skills, concepts and knowledge necessary for them to express responses to ideas and experiences in an ever-changing world.
