Pupil Premium

PUPIL PREMIUM FUNDING

WHAT IS PUPIL PREMIUM?

The Pupil Premium is extra money paid to the school to help us give additional support to some children who may need it. The support can vary from teaching help to supporting a school trip.

The money is based on the number of children who are registered for Free School Meals, or have been registered at any time in the last 6 years.

HOW DO WE USE THE MONEY?

We do not use the money just to benefit children receiving Free School Meals, we try to help all children who we feel are vulnerable to under achievement. We do try to ensure that those children entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) who are vulnerable do receive the benefit of additional support.

The money is spent in many ways: we provide one to one tuition for some children, Maths and Literacy support and intervention through internal and / or external support, targeted work with specialist staff, extra Teaching Assistant time , booster groups either on a short term or long term basis as well as supporting trips and visitors to school to lead activities for the children.

The money is spent carefully and not used in the general budget. We make sure it is spent on supporting children who are vulnerable to under achievement.

Our Pupil Premium policy and actions are reviewed constantly throughout the year.
