How We Work

Children can start at the Heron Park Nursery once they are 2 years of age.

Settling in visits

All children are unique and the amount of time that a child takes to settle into our nursery can vary enormously. Therefore, children will be given time to settle in at their own pace, so as to make them feel welcome, safe and confident in a new environment.

We encourage parents to help during this time.

Key Person

We have a ‘Partnership of Choice’ for the key worker system, we have linked staff with children who have built relationships or are requested by the parent/carers. ¬†Keyworkers are responsible for keeping Learning Journeys up to date and assessing their development, all staff will be involved in making observations and working on individual next steps.

Daily Diary

Each child receives a daily diary which provides communication between home and the nursery. In the diary we write information on how well your child’s day has gone, what activities they have been involved in, what they have eaten and information on nappy changes etc.
